Dear Sir,
I was fortunate to attend the recent Great Australian Vanilla Slice Triumph, and what a day it was! Nothing brings a community together quite like a major event, and the community spirit was alive for all to see. With huge crowds and vanilla slices for miles, it was a day that offered something for all ages.
Congratulations to the winners of all the baking categories and in particular, to Sharpe’s Bakery of Birchip, who took home the crown of 2025 Professional Vanilla Slice winner.
My warmest thanks go to Syd and Anne Nash and everyone involved in making this event such a success. Their work continues to amaze me as they deliver a bigger and better event each year, and that’s a credit to their passion and the many volunteers who make it all happen.
Events like the Vanilla Slice Triumph showcase what makes our part of tropical north Victoria so special. These events not only boost our economy and tourism but also strengthen the bonds of community spirit that make living here such a privilege.
