Dear Sir,
I write to acknowledge the passing of Dennis Ryan, a man whose name is known and respected by many within the policing community and beyond.
Though I did not have the honour of knowing Dennis personally, his legacy speaks volumes. He was known a man of great courage, conviction and perseverance, one of the rare few who stood up when it was hardest to do so, even while enduring personal sacrifice. His integrity and bravery helped shape important conversations in this state around justice, accountability, and the protection of children. That kind of strength leaves a lasting imprint, not just within the police force, but across the broader community.
To those who served with him, to those who called him a friend, and to the many who looked up to him, please accept my deepest sympathies. We have lost a good man, and we are all the poorer for it.
Warm regards,

Jade Benham MP
