The Nationals Member for Mildura, Jade Benham, is encouraging local artists, organisations and community groups to apply for grants through the Victoria’s Pride Regional Activation Program, which supports inclusive events and creative projects celebrating LGBTIQA+ pride in the lead-up to the 2026 Victoria’s Pride festival.
Grants of up to $10,000 are available to support events and activities in regional and rural communities that showcase local LGBTIQA+ voices, stories and artistic contributions. This is a valuable opportunity to highlight the diverse experiences and histories of LGBTIQA+ people living in regional areas and to strengthen community connection and inclusion.
Applicants can propose a range of creative projects, including:
- The delivery of a new or expanded event or community activity that highlights local pride
- The creation of artworks, digital media or installations that reflect the region’s unique pride history and identity
- The recording or publication of stories, interviews, performances or podcasts that preserve and amplify regional LGBTIQA+ voices
More than 25,000 people took part in regional pride events last year, showing the impact of regional participation in state-wide pride celebrations.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for regional communities to tell their own stories and contribute to a broader celebration of diversity and inclusion. I encourage local groups, councils and creatives to apply and bring their ideas to life.”
Expressions of interest are now open and close on Tuesday 5 August 2025. More information is available at Midsumma Festival – Regional Activation Program – Victoria’s Pride
