The Nationals’ Member for Mildura, Jade Benham, has congratulated community groups and volunteers across the Mildura electorate after eight local projects secured more than $385,000 through the latest round of the State Government’s Tiny Towns Fund.
The funding will support a range of community-led projects, delivering upgrades to local facilities and spaces that play an important role in towns across the electorate.
Ms Benham said the successful projects reflected the commitment of local volunteers and community groups who dedicate countless hours to improving their towns.
“Our small towns are built on volunteerism, and these grants are a credit to the people who give up their time to make their communities better places to live, work and visit,” Ms Benham said.
“Local volunteers know their towns inside and out. They know what their communities need because they’re the people using these facilities, running local events and helping keep community organisations going.
“I know how much work goes into putting applications together, raising ideas, building support and seeing projects through. Funding announcements like this are exciting, but they only happen because people in our communities are prepared to put their hand up and do the work.
“As Shadow Minister for Volunteers, I take great pride in the number of volunteer organisations across our electorate and the contribution they make every day. We are incredibly fortunate to have so many people who care deeply about their communities and are willing to get involved.
“I congratulate everyone involved in these projects and look forward to seeing them completed.”

- Nangiloc Recreation Reserve Community BBQ Picnic Area – $48,523
- Merbein Football and Netball Club Social Room Refurbishment and Outdoor Extension – $50,000
- Underbool-Linga Memorial Hall Refurbishment (Underbool-Linga Memorial Hall Reserve Committee Inc) – $43,155
