Jade Benham, Member for Mildura, recently enjoyed a vibrant day of community engagement with visits to Ouyen and Underbool.
“My favourite days in this job is when I am on the road and engaging in conversations and attending community activities.”
Ms Benham officially opened the new administrative building at Underbool Primary School. Joined by enthusiastic young helpers, Ms Benham engaged with 18 students on topics ranging from democracy to the upcoming ANZAC Day.
“A trip out in the electorate is never complete without a visit to the Mallee Bakery, followed by a stop at the Pink Lakes Pantry.”
“Speaking with communities I am able to share the common sense approaches and solutions we don’t often get out here in the regions.”
Despite refraining from offering her opinion, Benham revelled in the social interactions and pastoral care evident in these community spaces.
“I’d like to give Bev a special mention for her dedication volunteering her time to being behind the counter and providing the community essentials, it is a real inspiration,” said Ms Benham.
“The food, the people the scenery makes my heart sing through the Mallee.”
