The Nationals’ Member for Mildura, Jade Benham, is encouraging local not-for-profit organisations and community groups to apply for grants through the 2026–27 Pride Events and Festivals Fund, which supports events celebrating diversity, connection and inclusion for LGBTIQA+ communities.
Grants of up to $10,000 are available for smaller events and up to $25,000 for larger-scale events. Eligible projects include festivals, performances, exhibitions, digital media, community activities, artworks and installations that promote LGBTIQA+ arts and culture, create opportunities for people to connect, celebrate diversity, raise awareness and help combat discrimination.
“These grants are a great opportunity to bring people together, share stories and strengthen community connection,” Ms Benham said.
“Whether it’s a festival, performance, exhibition or another creative initiative, this funding can help local organisations celebrate diversity while showcasing the welcoming and inclusive communities we have throughout the Mildura electorate.”
Ms Benham encouraged eligible organisations to consider applying.
“There are so many creative ways to celebrate diversity and foster inclusion.
“I’ve long advocated for a Murray River Madi Gras – a flotilla of fabulous celebrating pride and inclusion on one of our region’s most iconic waterways.
“I have no doubt there would be strong interest in supporting a creative concept of that nature if a local organisation or community group wanted to take the lead.
“If your organisation has an idea that will bring people together, strengthen community connections or celebrate LGBTIQA+ pride, I’d encourage you to put an application forward.”
Applications close Friday, 7 August 2026.
