The Nationals’ Member for Mildura, Jade Benham, is encouraging local multicultural and multifaith organisations to apply for grants under Round 1 of the Multicultural Infrastructure and Security Program.
The program provides grants of up to $400,000 for maintenance, renovations, and security upgrades for multicultural and multifaith community facilities. Priority will be given to regional projects, new and emerging communities, and organisations that have not previously received multicultural grant funding from the department.
Organisations can use these grants to improve existing facilities, including upgrades to buildings, security measures, and outdoor spaces.
Ms Benham said the program could make a significant difference for organisations across the region.
“Our local multicultural and multifaith organisations are such an important part of our communities. They bring people together, celebrate diversity, and make our region a richer, more inclusive place.”
The grants will support organisations to celebrate culture, access opportunities, and maintain safe, welcoming spaces for gatherings and worship.
“It’s important that local groups have safe and appropriate spaces to meet, worship and celebrate culture. These grants go a long way to helping achieve that,” said Ms Benham.
Applications for the Multicultural Infrastructure and Security Program are now open and close on Monday, 5 January 2026.
