Member for Mildura, Jade Benham, is in high spirits to announce that an allocation of up to $2 million has been issued to both MRCC and SHRCC. This significant financial injection aims to address the pressing concerns surrounding the deteriorating state of local roads.
Ms Benham has written to the Minister several times with regards to the appalling state of our roads.
Most recently, a request for the Minister to urgently fund an upgrade for the Deakin Avenue and Sixteenth Street intersection.
The allocated funds are earmarked for strategic infrastructure improvements geared towards enhancing overall road safety. The focus will be on implementing measures such as raised crossings, intersection upgrades, speed cushions, safer speed zones, roundabouts, and other vital enhancements to ensure the well-being of all road users.
“These improvements are essential to address the current challenges and create a safer road network for the community.
“The commitment to enhancing infrastructure not only reflects a dedication to public safety but also the importance of proactive governance in responding to the needs of the constituents,” said Ms Benham.
