The Nationals’ Member for Mildura, Jade Benham, is encouraging local community groups to apply for the latest round of the Victorian Government’s Tiny Towns Fund.
Round 3 of the program is now open, offering grants between $5,000 and $50,000 for projects that boost tourism, improve liveability, and strengthen community pride in towns with fewer than 5,000 residents.
Ms Benham said the fund had already delivered significant benefits in regional areas and urged local groups to consider putting forward their ideas.
“The Mildura electorate home to numerous small towns and communities. I’d love to see more of our towns take advantage of this funding stream.
“Whether it’s a hall upgrade, improvements to sporting facilities, play space renewals, or local beautification works, these grants can turn local priorities into action.”
Applicants must contribute up to 20 per cent of the total project cost, which can include financial and in-kind support.
Ms Benham said previous rounds had shown just how far smaller communities can stretch modest funding when they have the opportunity.
“Our smallest communities are often the most resourceful, and this program helps them deliver projects that make a genuine, lasting difference,” she said.
“I’m also happy to provide a letter of support for any local applications.”
Applications for Round 3 close on 4 February 2026.
