The Nationals’ Member for Mildura, Jade Benham, has congratulated The Pink Ball – Mildura Committee on another highly successful event, which an impressive $90,000 for Sunraysia Cancer Resources (SCR).
Ms Benham attended the event with her team in support of the cause and praised the committee’s remarkable contribution to cancer support services.
“Seventeen years of hard work, dedication and community spirit have delivered almost $1 million to support locals and their families affected by breast cancer. For a volunteer organisation, that is nothing short of extraordinary,” Ms Benham said.
“This isn’t just about fundraising. It’s about local people helping local families through some of the toughest times of their lives. Deb Chandler and the entire Pink Ball Committee have made a lasting difference for our region, and their legacy will continue through their fundraising efforts.”
Since its inception, the Pink Ball has raised more than $920,000, with funds going directly towards practical support for breast cancer patients in the Sunraysia region.
This year’s donation goes to assisting SCR to continue to provide support and resources for people and families facing a life-threatening diagnosis. The organisation helps locals navigate the maze of emotions, information and services that come with a cancer diagnosis, offering a lifeline at a time when people need it most.
The Pink Ball – Mildura committee has now handed the reins to SCR, ensuring the tradition of local generosity continues.
“I know the team at Sunraysia Cancer Resources will carry this work forward with the same compassion and care,” Ms Benham said.“It was an honour to attend the Pink Ball and to celebrate such an incredible effort from everyone involved.”
