Legacy Week, running from August 31 to September 6, is a time for Australians to pause and reflect on the enormous sacrifices made by our veterans and their families.
Founded in Victoria in 1923, Legacy has stood beside the families of fallen and injured service men and women for more than a century. Its work ensures no widow, widower, or child is ever left behind and provides practical support, education opportunities, and a strong community of care.
As the Member for Mildura, I encourage our community to get behind this year’s Legacy Week campaign. Whether it’s by purchasing a badge, making a donation, or simply helping raise awareness, every contribution makes a difference and provides dignity and hope to the families of those who served our nation.
We also owe a debt of gratitude to the Legatees, RSL members, and volunteers who give their time and energy to keep Legacy’s mission alive. Their dedication reflects the Australian values of mateship, compassion, and loyalty.
This Legacy Week, wear a badge with pride, knowing that in doing so, you are honouring the service of our veterans and supporting their families into the future.
