Dear Editor,
The Donald 2000 Melbourne Cup Luncheon was an absolute delight and a fantastic way to spend the public holiday. There was a real buzz in the room, great company, colourful fashions, and that unmistakable community spirit that makes local events memorable.
My congratulations go to Jodie Hollis, John McConnville and the entire Donald 2000 committee for delivering another successful event. The food was excellent, the service was outstanding, and the entertainment by Eleanor Parry was enjoyed by all.
John’s jokes may have strayed into questionable territory, and the impromptu musical fundraising effort certainly challenged a few ears, but it was all in good fun, and most importantly, for a worthy cause.
I also want to acknowledge the generosity of the local community who donated prizes. Thanks to their support, events like this can keep thriving and bringing people together.
For those who attended, you’ll know exactly what made the day so enjoyable. And for those who couldn’t make it, I encourage you to come along next year. Not only is it a great day out, it’s events like these that keep our regional towns connected.
Thank you again for the invitation and well done to everyone involved.
Warm regards,
