Nationals Member for Mildura, Jade Benham, is applauding the efforts of the Wycheproof-Narraport Demons on bringing back the King of the Mountain after a 35 year hiatus.
“I am no stranger to a good challenge but I was surprised with just how hard it was to run up that mountain with a twenty kilogram wheat bag on my shoulders.”
Congratulations to King of the mountain Tom Rogers and Queen Carly Isaac on a mammoth effort up the smallest mountain in the world.
The success of the Wycheproof King of the Mountain event can be attributed to the dedication of the enthusiasm of participants, the unwavering support of the community, and the incredible band of volunteers.
The return of this event serves as a testament to the strong human spirit and the power of community-driven events to bring people together after 35 years.
In addition to the ten races held, the Wycheproof King of the Mountain event featured a range of activities and festivities, ensuring there was something for everyone.
Vendors offered delicious treats at the family picnic and live music provided a lively soundtrack to the day’s festivities as well as activities for the kids, before showing the AFL Grand Final on the big screen.
