Member for Mildura, Jade Benham says, the decision by the Minister for Education, to reverse the Government’s cuts to teaching services for students with a disability is a ‘no brainer’.
It follows fierce opposition by a range of key education stakeholders including schools, parents and other advocacy groups.
“These cuts should have never been put on the table by the Andrews Government in the first place.
“This is another embarrassing backflip by an Education Minister who does not understand the vital role these frontline teachers deliver to communities across the state.
“We know that under Labor Victoria is broke but that does not mean you take the axe to frontline staff who provide an invaluable service to students.”
“This is a great outcome for regional students and their families who need additional support and funding, not less”.
