The Nationals’ Member for Mildura, Jade Benham, is encouraging locals to take advantage of the latest round of the Power Saving Bonus.
The $100 payment is now available to all eligible households, including those who received the bonus in previous rounds.
“Families, pensioners and small businesses are dealing with continued power price hikes, so I urge everyone eligible to take advantage of the Power Saving Bonus,” Ms Benham said.
“The cost of living continues to spiral out of control, and a $100 saving can mean the difference between putting food on the table or going hungry. While this is by no means a cure-all for the hip-pocket pain Victorians are enduring, it’s cash back at a time when people need it most.”
Ms Benham said the program was a simple but effective way for households to put a little extra back in their pockets. “It’s one of the quickest applications you can make, and it’s worth the short time it takes to get it done. Every bit helps when budgets are stretched this far,” she said.
To apply, eligible households will need a recent residential electricity bill and must hold a Health Care Card, Pensioner Concession Card, Veterans’ Affairs Pensioner Concession Card, or Veterans’ Affairs Gold Card.
Applications open on 25 August 2025. For further information, eligibility criteria and to apply, visit the Victorian Energy Compare website at https://compare.energy.vic.gov.au.
Locals who need assistance with their application are welcome to visit Ms Benham’s office at 35a Deakin Avenue, Mildura.
