The Sporting Club Grants Program is now accepting applications for 2025, with The Nationals’ Member for Mildura, Jade Benham, encouraging all local clubs to apply for funding.
This year, much of the funding is focused on supporting volunteers and officials, with grants of up to $5,000 available for projects that enhance the skills and knowledge of volunteers, coaches, and officials, as well as initiatives aimed at improving volunteer retention.
Additional funding opportunities include:
- Up to $4,000 to help clubs deliver new programs to the community.
- Up to $1,000 for uniforms and equipment.
- $750 travel grants to assist clubs in participating in competitions away from home.
“Volunteers are the lifeblood of community sport across our region, and clubs simply can’t function without them,” Ms Benham said.
“With today’s busy lifestyles, retaining volunteers has never been more important.
“I encourage local clubs to put forward initiatives for funding to support their tireless volunteers and keep them engaged.
“Applications can also be made for uniform and travel costs, which can add up significantly for clubs in regional areas.
“I would be delighted to provide a letter of support for any local grant applications and look forward to seeing successful recipients across our region.”
Applications close on March 27. For more information, visit: https://sport.vic.gov.au/funding/sporting-club-grants-program.
