I congratulate new Premier Jacinta Allan on her appointment, but will the Premier deliver on a reset in government that Victorians so desperately need?
I am very concerned it will be business as usual. More money wasted. More debt. More mismanagement. More secrecy. More poor governance.
Jacinta Allan was the key minister behind the scrapped Commonwealth Games and the $30 billion of cost overruns on Victoria’s major projects. That hardly fills you with confidence.
Under the new Premier, hospital waiting lists must shorten. The crumbling roads must be repaired. A solution for the housing crisis that is affecting so many across the state must be implemented.
As Premier, Jacinta Allan needs to come clean about the true state of Victoria’s budget and the debt crisis under the government she has been part of for nine years.
Regional Victoria has been constantly overlooked, with reduced investment in roads, rising crime rates, and a housing waitlist that has nearly doubled.
The cost-of-living crisis created by this government has left many struggling to make ends meet and failed to support the services there to support vulnerable people.
For Premier, Jacinta Allan, and Deputy Premier, Ben Carroll, it is time for a reset and to govern for all Victorians. It is time to invest genuinely in regional Victoria, which has long been neglected.
